Control your notifications
You can choose what kind of notifications you get and when they interrupt you.
Settings and features vary by device and Android version. The steps might be different on your phone.

Show notifications

To see all your notifications, swipe down from the top of your screen.

To see more details about a notification, tap the Down arrow

To act directly from a notification, you can tap an action, like Archive or Reply.
Turn on Do Not Disturb

To temporarily silence notifications, swipe down from the top of your screen twice.

Tap Do Not Disturb
.
If it’s not there, you might need to swipe left to find it or tap Edit
to add it.
With Do Not Disturb on, your phone will mute sounds, stop vibrations, and block visual disturbances.

To pick which interruptions to block and allow, touch and hold Do Not Disturb
.

You can choose what may interrupt you in Do Not Disturb mode or set a schedule for Do Not Disturb.
Tip: With any settings, critical notifications show. For example, you can't block system security notifications.
Clear notifications

To clear a notification, swipe a notification left or right.

To clear all notifications, scroll to the bottom of your notifications and tap Clear all.
Prioritize notifications

Swipe down from the top of your screen to see all your notifications.

Drag a notification slightly right or left.

Tap Settings

Then, choose your settings for that app:
- To get notifications, including rings or vibrations, tap Default.
- To get notifications with no noise or vibration, tap Silent.
- To turn off some or all notifications, tap Turn off notifications.
