  • Stay signed In

Staying logged in to your Google Account makes using all Google services a seamless experience. You can quickly switch tools without having to reenter your password, while still maintaining the security of your Google Account.

For example, you can check your email in Gmail or see your past searches in Chrome without missing a beat.

  • If you keep getting signed out

If Google keeps signing you out when you’d rather stay logged in, here are a few tips:

    • Make sure your cookies are turned on. Some antivirus or related software may delete your cookies.
    • If your cookies are turned on, clear your browser's cache. Be aware that deleting your cookies may resolve the problem, but it will also remove your saved settings for sites you've visited.
    • Make sure you’re using the latest version of your browser.
    • Consider using Chrome or a password manager to remember your passwords for you.
    • If you use 2-Step Verification, add your computer or phone to your trusted computers.
  • Stay signed out

Whenever you sign in to your Google Account, you’ll stay logged in until you select “sign out”.

If you’re using a shared or public computer, it’s a good idea to use private browsing to protect your information. Once you’re done browsing, close all the private windows and you’ll be automatically signed out.

  • Sign out of someone else’s device

If your password is saved to someone else’s device, change your password and make sure you’re signed out of their device. That way, no one else will be able to sign in to your account.
